Home Visits

Doctor's bag

These are intended only for patients who are unable, because of their medical condition, to attend the surgery. Where possible a home visit should be requested before 10.00 am.

Please be prepared to give brief details of the problem so that you can be given appropriate priority. It is usual for the duty doctor of the day to contact you by telephone prior to the visit in order to assess the urgency and clinical need for the visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
