A Note from Dispensary

 

 

We would like to take this opportunity to inform all our valued dispensary patients, of some changes that we are making, to the way we run our dispensary.

 

The last year, the entire practice has worked through unprecedented times. Covid-19, and the United Kingdom leaving the European Union have brought about many changes and we thank you for your patience and understanding during these times.

 

During the past few months, the dispensary department has been operating with significantly reduced staff. Covid-19 has caused us major disruption with staff shielding, and self-isolating. As a direct result of this, our prescription processing time is often longer than the 5 working days we promote. We are very sorry for this and understand the frustration and inconvenience this causes. Please be assured that we are addressing this, and hope to be back on track soon.

 

To accommodate and facilitate change, we have decided to close the dispensary between 11.00am - 4.00pm on the last Thursday of every month, commencing 25th February. This will allow us time to further develop our skills, and manage our expanding workload, thus providing our patients with a more efficient service.

 

May we also remind you that the dispensary is closed daily between 1-2pm, we are unable to hand out medication during this time. You will receive a text message when your prescription is ready for collection. Please wait to receive this in order to avoid a wasted journey and disappointment. This system has been put in place to help you and us.

 

Since leaving the European Union at the beginning of the year, we have experienced some minor difficulties in obtaining some of our regular brands of routine medications. To manage this we are now dealing with a number of new manufactures and suppliers. Please rest assured that your medication, unless changed by your health professional, remains the same. The changes you may notice are different packaging, slight changes to pack size, and items displaying the drug name, instead of a brand name.

 

We thank you for your continued support, and understanding during these uncertain times. Without your help and loyalty, we would not have the benefit of this great dispensing facility within our practice. We remain committed to providing all our patients with the highest level of care and service.

It is with great sadness that Dr Diana Kenshole will be retiring as a Partner at Clift Surgery at the end of March 2021.

 

Having been a Partner at the surgery for over 23 years she will greatly miss the patients, doctors and the staff.

 

She is moving to a salaried GP position in Whitchurch, Hampshire but will have really fond memories of working in Bramley.

 

We’re sure you will agree that Dr Kenshole will be much missed and that you will all join us in wishing her every success and happiness for the future.

Please DO NOT telephone us to ask when or if you are going to get a Covid Vaccine. 

We will contact you individually if and when you are invited to have a vaccine and will keep this website updated.  Please see PDF below for a rough idea as to when you may expect your Covid-19 Vaccine.

The vaccine will be given in order of priority to those at highest risk first.

Please act on your invitation when it comes, and make sure you attend your appointments.

It is essential, if you are given a vaccine, that you return for the second part of the vaccination on the date that you are advised to.

Please continue to abide by all the social distancing and hand hygiene guidance, which will still save lives.

Meanwhile, we all need to keep to the advice of hand-washing, face masks and social distancing but we all look forward to the time when we will return to life as normal.

COVID-19 Assessment Centre

North Hampshire GP practices have set up a COVID Winter Assessment Hub which will carry out testing for patients with COVID and which will carry out baseline observations to identify those who are unwell so that we can refer early. For those patients who are COVID positive, and not unwell, but at high risk, we will enter them into the COVID Oximetry at Home (CO@h) service, with home monitoring, to identify deterioration early. The referral to this site will be by each practice that the patient is registered with.

To protect patients and staff in home GPs practices, we have deliberately set wide admission criteria at the Winter Assessment Hub.

This allows practices to safely see vulnerable and shielded patients in their own surgeries, reducing the risk of COVID transmission. We will see all patients with:
• Fever > 37.8 (whatever the likely cause) OR
• Respiratory Symptoms – a new continuous cough OR
• Anosmia
